It is in excellent condition, and is very clean. You would be hard pressed to find one in better condition than this. A very sweet and smooth sound.Reeds are solid and the harmonica is tight. The previous owner was kind enough to contact me and give me the following info: A polyphonia 5 or 6 has 25 holes, yours has 28. A poly has blow and draw same hole, yours has a semitone between. A poly has one reed for b, and one reed for d, yours has 2, tuned in tremolo, which is why you see the equalization holes in the middle of the comb, not seen on a poly. If you blow a gliss, for effects, like you see in the early movies, on a poly, you get a chromatic scale, where as you get a wholetone' scale with yours, which sounds much better in many ways. The poly reed plates were used, and the side covers, but the comb was not even the same shape, but the poly 'pieces' which were available, were used. So what you have is a 'tremolo tuned Zirc structured harmonica. I purchased mine from Holland 5 years ago thinking they were Polys, only to realize when they got here they weren't. I contacted the seller, who contacted Hohner Germany, and after exchanges between them for a week, concluded, indeed, Hohner made then likely in the 30s, but for whom, and how many were made, no record. The seller in Holland had 10 for sale, I bought 4 and a buyer on Long Island snapped up the rest. Place a Bid!
