Description
Vintage 1956 Gibson Les Paul Gold Top ALL Original OHSC Original Finish, One Owner, The Real Deal!!! The Story— The current owner purchased this beautiful Guitar in 1956 on a Layaway program for $18 a month, for a total of $256. It was purchased from The Chase E. Wells Co., which was established in 1918 and is still open to this day. They now operate under the name Wells Music. The owner played her for several years with a number of acts and all over the country. In the mid 60’s he was injured in the service and was no longer able to play the guitar. It was tucked away and only pulled out to polish and do general up keep. The owner is selling it to start his retirement and take a cruise around the world. This is truly the most beautiful instrument I’ve ever seen. Starting With The Case— The case is in excellent condition with very few marks. The tolex is completely intact and the switches and locks work perfectly. The interior of the case is excellent condition as well. The pocket is still perfectly attached and should easily last another 50+ years. The Guitar— The Guitar is in amazing condition and is easily the best I’ve seen of a guitar this age. The finish is completely original with no touch ups or significant scratches. It has standard checking for a guitar of its age, but adds to the vibe and beauty of the instrument. All the hardware is original and has had no other parts installed over the years. The pickups are original and look great. The have never been repaired or taken out. The switch is original and has never been repaired as well. It’s obvious that the solder joints are all original as you can see in the pictures. All pots and knobs are original and have never been replaced. The neck is in fantastic shape and has the original frets. The inlays show a gorgeous green tint to them that shows its age. The truss rod is in perfect working order as well. The tuning keys are original and has never had any other keys installed. The serial number reads – 510297 – The Guitar will come with the original purchase receipt as well, which is truly amazing for any collector. This is a beautiful piece of history and the reason why Gibson’s are the guitar of choice. No VOS sounds or plays anywhere near as nice as her. I will be more than happy to answer any questions as the auction continues. So please don’t hesitate to email. I will not be able to accept any offers less than the listing price which is what the owner needs out of this instrument. I will accept paypal, cashiers check, or bank transfer. I do prefer cashiers check or bank transfer due to the extra costs incurred in paypal transactions, but would be more than happy to accept it as a form of payment. These types of guitars do not come around every day. This is a rare chance to own a piece of history in such incredible condition. Good Luck!!!! _gsrx_vers_247 (GS 5.1.2 (247))
