Welcome. Up for auction is, this Very Nice Vintage 1926 King New Series Alto Saxophone.~New Series horns; These instruments continued many of the features of the previous King instruments, such as braised rather than drawn tone holes, and featured a front F key, a wider G sharp key, and an improved octave key. This mechanism, designed for King by Henry Dreves (US Patent 1549911, granted August 18, 1925) was an attempt to eliminate the hissing that often occurs  between high G and high A.  In this system, the tube of the neck octave pip was slanted, and the point of pad contact was rounded to better seal against a pad with a concave surface~ This Silver Plated King Saxophone is in very nice cosmetic condition! Serial # is 105598, Serial numbers on neck & body match. Original Silver Plate and gold wash bell interior, 9.5 out of 10, some slight scratching. No missing silver plate,. Condition overall 7.5 out of 10 Pads & springs condition is 5 out of 10  Pads have extensive usage, and will need replacement. Ferrees Pads (new) included. Pearl Caps, cork & felt condition 7.5 out of 10 Apart from 2 small sized dings, one on bell, and one on the neck there is no other damage present on the horn. All keys move freely. All rods, keys, rollers & palm keys in excellent condition. No re-soldered parts, Sax has a very good original King case, handle torn on one side, the rest looks great & comes with a lyre, ligature, neck plug, and new replacement pads (not installed).
