Description
TITANO ACCORDION ("PALMER CONVERTER VIRTUOSO") Excellent condition 11 treble registers + palm; 7 bass registers Fast, quiet rt-hand treble keyboard and left-hand bass Can convert from regular stradella to free bass system (2 of the 7 registers) 4 treble and 5 bass sets of reeds about 26 lbs; full size 19 ¼ in keyboard No odours I have owned this accordion since 1983. There was one previous owner and I believe it was manufactured in the early 1970’s. The serial # (37071) suggests 1971, but I am not sure about this. There are no musty or other odors with this instrument or its case (our home is smoke-free). It is in excellent condition, but I have not played it much recently and have decided to sell it. The only issues this instrument has are some small scratches and scuffs, otherwise everything works perfectly – all reeds, all registers, the bellows. Reeds have their original concert (dry) tuning and are in great shape (see photos). Registers are quiet and smooth. Bellows have great compression and show little wear (see photos). Shoulder harness and left wrist strap are original and in very good condition. The case has some minor discolorations, dings and scratches, but is very solid and does the job. The accordion has a pick-up system installed with 2 treble mics under the grill and one bass mic mounted on top of a reed block (see photos), but I do not know if this still works; it did 25 years ago when I bought it, but I have never used it (do not have an amp so can’t test it). This accordion is great. The keyboard and the sound are a joy to experience. Titano certainly know how to build them! This is the same model made famous by Arthur Metzler and other well-known professional accordionists. I am starting this with a low opening bid and NO RESERVE, so highest bidder wins it. Just so you know the value of this accordion, one identical to it sold recently on Ebay for $2225.00 (item #170183358464; seller "Rostik11"; closing date Jan 14, 2008). See also "Accordion Heaven" website listing a pre-owned 17 ¾ inch version of the same model with an asking price of $4295.00. I will ship only to USA and Canada at a cost of between $75 and $150. Bidders should accept this level of uncertainty knowing that I will charge only the actual shipping cost (no extra charges) and will arrange the shipping method and firm up the cost with the winning bidder (I cannot do this ahead time for anyone who asks). I expect only serious bids; I do not want to have to take action against a winning bidder who does not intend to pay. I have included lots of photos, but if there is anything I have missed in the description or the photos that you would like to know, please send an e-mail through the normal Ebay procedure.
