Description
The guitar shown up for bid is a Fender Stratocaster-Richie Sambora Artist Series in Red built in 2003.It has a Flloyd Ross Bridge. There are two pictures - the first one is the guitar that is on sale; the second picture is a photograph of the 65' Model that is owned by Disney and is NOT the item for sale. It is a collectors item, as the guitar was used as the model for the 65' tall guitar at the Aerosmith Rock & Roll Coaster ( picture # 2) in Walt Disney World, MGM Park in Florida. The company I worked for was contracted to fabricate this 65' Replica. International Sign & Design purchased two red Fender Stratocasters, and stripped them of all the knobs, switches, pick-ups and bridge. These pieces were then sent to various fabricators who made exact scale replicas of these parts for the 65' model. One of the guitars was put in a chop saw and the neck was cut just below the top nut and the head, stock and tuning keys were also sent out. The body was then cut at the base to simulate projection from the ground. The body of this guitar was eventually destroyed. After all the pieces were fabricated to scale, we had to build this 65' larger than life guitar and assemble it in the parking lot of International Sign and Design Co. for Disney's executives to approve. Upon approval, we dismantled the 65' guitar, shipped it to Florida, and reassembled it at Disney World MGM. Upon completion of the 65' guitar, I was allowed to take the parts and pieces of the two guitars. I took the body of the guitar that had not been cut up, and had it reassembled by a certified Fender dealer at Sam Ash Music Center in Clearwater, Florida - the guitar was back in its original condition. Isn't it ironic that a Fender Stratocaster Richi Sambora Artist Series inspired and survived the building of a famous and popular landmark and Disney's MGM Aerosmith Rock and Roller 65' replica. You can own this guitar and become a part of Disney's Rock & Roll history.
