Description
In 1864 Helmuth Kranich and Jacques Bach established what has become one of the oldest, most reliable piano companies (1864-1981) whose pianos are among the highest class in the world, known for their durability, and for their tone's purity, singing quality, brilliancy and carrying power. Their concert grand made its debut in the spring of 1916. This serial number 50496 indicates a manufacturing date between 1910 and 1920. This highly carved burled mahogany six foot, one inch Kranich & Bach grand piano is extremely rare. This piano was restored in 1990 to like-new condition, in a historically correct finish with its original ivory keys. It is gorgeous with its unique, hand crafted American-made cabinet and its superb warm tone.. I bought this concert grand piano in 1990 in Leominster, Massachusetts, have treated it with respect and love and have thoroughly enjoyed playing it. My mother-in-law passed away and bequeathed me her Steinway grand. She was a music teacher who taught until her final days, and I MUST KEEP HER BELOVED piano in the family. For this reason only am I selling my Kranich & Bach beautiful, gorgeous concert grand that has been not only a glorious instrument, but a magnificent piece of furniture. BRAND: KRANICH & BACH SERIAL #: 50496 PERIOD: Nineteen Ten to 1920 CABINET: Burled Mahogany Furniture Style: Louis XV CONDITION: Restoration in 1990. Will require tuning to new environment.
