The label says Giovanni Dollenz 1832, but it is not a Dollenz. Liutiers say that it is italian late 1800´s. I did have  the instrument re-varnished as it was not in good condition when I got it years ago. All of the restoration work was done by award winning liutier Iouri Boushaguine. The viola is 17 inches or 43.05 centimeters. The sound is dark and BIG. This is a true solo viola. I use this instrument in the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Lisbon. It pains me to have to sell because of financial difficulties. The viola is truly phenomenal. The vola will not be shipped with the tail-piece seen in the photo.
