Description
Vintage 1962 Gibson Les Paul Special Original & Clean Slab Body 3rd Version Last of Slab Body Gibson Specials Made This same guitar was the featured instrument in January 2001 issue of Guitar Club, the most important Italian guitar magazine. Please see the last two pictures for the article. This killer Les Paul Special from 1962 has the cool look and the big sound...a mere feather in you hands at 6 3/4 lbs...a screaming roaring set of P-90s...last of the delightful slab body double-cut old style Les Paul Specials (called SG Special by Gibson), and proving that discontinued body styles were produced after being discontinued...1962?????? You Say!!  Gibson often held back parts for warranty, and if not used, they periodically assembled guitars like this & sent them out to make warehouse room. I'd call it a 3rd version because the neck pickup is slightly more recessed than a 2nd version, and the stop tail posts are even, with a compensated stop tailpiece--check the pictures--for more info on this unique instrument call Paul at 401 722 5837...it has a moderate neck-not fat...guitar is clean, tidy, with strong cherry color body, all original parts, and no issues...refretted perfectly with a nice large fret so it plays and bends nice...guitar was well cared for and is nice and straight, the neck set is perfect, and the neck is straight so you can set it as low as you'd like...this Special has it all--it looks really good, plays low and easy, and sounds awesome...the guitar has no extra holes or routes, and the Original Cherry Finish Body is rich looking and not faded...all electronics are original...this guitar was built during the Golden Era of Guitars...the guitar is solid and is so clean and sweet...check the pictures and marvel at the fine condition of this cool vintage guitar...the guitar has new strings and is ready to play and enjoy immediately and needs nothing...you will not be disappointed in the condition or play of this fine quality built guitar...check my feedback for assurance of your satisfaction.
