ABOUT ME Dusty Strings FH36B Folk Celtic Harp, Walnut, w/case House of Musical Traditions has been selling Dusty Strings harps (http://www.dustystrings.com/building/harps.shtml) for almost 30 years. This wonderful Seattle, WA-based company has been our main harp supplier for almost as long as we’ve been in business. Their harps truly stand the test of time, and they are one of the most well-respected names in the folk/Celtic harp world. We always love getting in a used Dusty Strings harp, and here’s a great one! This is the FH36B model in walnut. At 36 strings (5 octaves, starting on C), this is the largest harp Dusty makes. Most harp players consider this the ideal range for a lever harp. The all solid wood construction brings a surprising amount of depth, power and articulation to Dusty’s characteristic bright and clear sound. This harp will delight the professional or the new player who is ready to make an investment in quality, musical potential and sheer enjoyment. This model has a rectangular soundbox, as opposed to the stave-back shape of the FH36S (a more expensive model). The rectangular soundbox tends to produce a more articulate, defined sound throughout the harp’s range, and projects particularly well. Walnut is a popular wood choice for this model—it has a particularly warm and mellow sound. The harp measures 54 inches tall, and weighs about 25 lbs (case weighs about 9 lbs). This harp has full Loveland sharping levers installed, to give the player a full chromatic range. The well-padded burgundy cordura case is included, as well as a tuning wrench. Additionally, the previous owner of the harp is including a full set of replacement strings, which is a $120 value. Altogether, this package would cost $4,815 if purchased new. We are offering a buy-it-now price on this used harp in excellent condition (only a couple of very minor dings/scratches) at $3,400!! Due to the size of this item, we regret we cannot offer shipping. This harp must be picked up in our store in Takoma Park, MD. We are right on the border of Washington DC, accessible to the Metro red line. You can certainly come try out the harp in person anytime during our business hours (11-5 Sunday & Monday; 11-7 Tuesday through Saturday). Maryland sales tax will add on 6% to the price.
