Description
This is a chance wich you have almost every couple of years: An original Dumble Overdrive Special 100 Watt Top in brown suede built by Howard Alexander Dumble in approx 1983. The Amp is in great condition and sounds fantastic just like you expect this Amplifier - even better! As far as I can say the Amp is complete original (exept of one the four screw wich holds the chassis on the top of the cab), and a small part on the electronic-board where the black silicon blob was removed (very caryfully and professional - wich is a good thing I think, if you have to service the amp). In the inside it's engraved (!) - not written) Larry Carltons signature. The Amp is the typical Blackface Dumble from the 80ths wich endeed is the best Dumble Amps you can get (if you get one..). Two channels, with "Ratio"-Knob in the Overdrive Channel wich means Master-Volume for the Overdrive channel. This is one of the very important details compare to the earlier 70ths Dumbles wich are cheaper, but even rare and expensive too... Another nice detail is the switch from 100 Watt to 40 Watt on the backside The Amp has serial number 0094 (Number 94) wich was the transition time when Dumble startet to change the "Accent" Knob (wich is for Presence) from switch (two modes only) to the much more versitale normal rotating Knob - now you can add the amount of presence like you want. On this Amp the "Accent" Knob is smaller but original (I have photos of other Dumble Amps of this period with the same knob!). The reason must be: the faceplate was already built for switch (narrow) but the new idea took alreaday place in this Amps. The amp has an original worldwide voltage selector wich is connected for all types of voltage (proofed by my tech before I tested the amp first time!) The amp sounds great even at bedroom volume. When you check my You Tube videos: these videos are made at home with a cheap mike at very low volume - but the amp sounds still phenomenal. But the best Idea how this amp is sonding you will get by listening to my new cd "Blue In Red"! Every solo was played with this amp plus a new Vox 2x 12 cab with blue bull dog celestions (new speakers). I like this combination a lot, but live on stage and on the homemade youtube videos I also played a 1 x 12 EVL Cab - wich is great too!
