Conn 8d professional double horn in outstanding condition for a horn of it's age.  It has tapered valves.  Original case and mouthpiece are included. This horn was made in Elkhart, Indiana.  The serial number (609xxx) dates it to 1956.  It has just been fully serviced and polished ($200+ job).  It was fully cleaned, bumpers and strings were replaced, valve porting was adjusted, and was play tested by a professional french horn player.  Her words: "I've never seen an 8d this old in this good condition."  All slides move easily and all 4 valves are quick.  There are few tiny dings in the horn and nothing that affects the sound. The original mouthpiece is a Conn french horn mouthpiece with #2 size cup.  There are some scratches around the outside, and some of the silver plating is worn off the rim and inside the cup.  There are no scratches on the inside of the cup.  The mouthpiece has been professionally cleaned and sealed in plastic. The original case is fairly beat up, but still has some years of use left in it.  It has a Conn logo on the outside of the case and a second Conn logo on the inside.  The case fits and protects the horn well.
