Description We are offering a NON LETTER series VERY NICE CLASSIC totally restored VINTAGE Conn 6D Double French Horn, F/Bb, serial #369016. This classic was built by the Conn Corporation, Elkhart, Indiana, USA. CIRCA 1946- ELKHART HORN!! Pattern reads: C. G. Conn, Ltd., Elkhart, Ind.USA.  Instrument has been well cared for and was a one owner horn! This vintage professional horn has been meticulously restored in our Pro Restoration Shop where we have been rebuilding musical instruments since 1946. This horn and our restoration business were both born in Elkhart in 1946!   This entire horn has NO PATCHES, CRACKS OR RED ROT ANYWHERE! A REAL TREASURE FROM ELKHART!!!  Bell and mouthpipe nickel hand guards are perfect. This horn has been lightly polished so as to maintian metal integrity and sound quality that these vintage horns are famous for. Instrument has been clear lacquered to preserve finish. Rotors and slides have been cleaned and lubricated and are smooth and airtight! The rotors, with front and back bearings, have been professionally rebuilt to like new airtight tolerances. Again, there are no cracks or patches on this horn!   Conn states that “this horn was built with the professional in mind with increased range and flexibility." It has the full throated bell that contributes to the traditional French horn sound that the "Older Classic 6D's" are FAMOUS for! The outside slide tubes are nickel silver, the cylindrical bore is .467 and the bell diameter is 12 1/4". This 1946 horn has the rare solid nickel silver rotor casings that are no longer made due to the high cost! These nickel casings provide superior wear resistance compared to the brass casings used today! This older vintage horn is typical of Conn’s early years of excellence!   This outfit includes NEW USA MADE HIGHEST QUALITY CASE, but DOES NOT INCLUDE MOUTHPIECE!
